The nomination period for MSRI’s 2014 summer graduate schools (see poster below) will begin on Monday, December 2nd.

To be considered for these programs, students should send me a short statement containing the following information, no later than Thursday, November 28th:

  • explanation of your interest in attending a particular school
  • year of study
  • advisor’s name (if applicable)
  • list of previous summer schools attended (including source of funding).


In cooperation with Centro de Investigaci n en Matem ticas (CIMAT), MSRI will sponsor a summer graduate school on Algebraic Topology in Guanajuato, Mexico in 2014.  The school will reprise the very successful school held at MSRI in the summer of 2013.

Modern algebraic topology is a broad and vibrant field which has seen recent progress on classical problems as well as exciting new interactions with applied mathematics.  This summer school will consist of a series of lecture by experts on major research directions, including several lectures on applied algebraic topology.  Participants will also have the opportunity to have guided interaction with the seminal texts in the field, reading and speaking about the foundational papers.

Please note that any student who attended the school at MSRI will be ineligible to attend.
