Ontario/Baden-Wurttemberg Exchange Program - Deadline: January 29, 2010

I am writing to advise you of research opportunities for summer 2010 at
German universities for senior undergraduates and for graduate students
in science, engineering, and health science disciplines. These
opportunities, funded by MTCU, enable students from Ontario universities
to spend between two and four months under the supervision of a host
professor at one of the nine universities in Ontario's partner region
Baden-Württemberg. Our partner institutions are the universities of
Freiburg, Heidelberg, Hohenheim, Karlsruhe, Konstanz, Mannheim,
Stuttgart, Tübingen, and Ulm.

Full informationon this opportunity is available at the
Ontario/Baden-Württemberg Exchange Program's website:

http://www.yorku.ca/ontbw/SummerResearchProgram.html . The program is
administered at the local level by each Ontario university's
international exchange office, and it is to that office at each
university that students must direct their application.

I would be most grateful if you could ensure that students and faculty
members be made aware of this program and that the following points be
emphasized:

1. We are extending the 2010 deadline and will be pleased to receive
applications by January 29, 2010 (deadline for receipt of applications
at the central OBW office).

2. If a student does not have a professor in Ontario who can mediate
contact with a host professor in Baden-Württemberg, that should not be a
barrier to that student's applying. In such cases we are quite used to
working closely with our German partners to seek a suitable hosting
arrangement.

Trusting that this opportunity will be of interest to your students,
with best wishes,

David Darby
