Let the snow fly

It might feel a little early for wintry weather, but it sure is pretty! So bundle up and embrace the flakes this week while you check out great events on campus. From serious discussions to lighthearted fun and games, we’ve got the activities that will connect you with your U of T community – no matter what the weather may bring.

1. Religion and migration

November 13, 12 – 2 p.m.
1 Devonshire Place, 108N

How can religious groups foster tolerance and mutual respect? Discuss the role of human rights law and language and religious freedom at this workshop.

3. Know your employment rights

November 14, 4 – 6 p.m.
Student Success Centre, Seminar Room

Join Downtown Legal Services and Career Exploration & Education to learn about your employment rights and how to navigate challenging situations.

4. Kensington photo walk

November 14, 6 – 8 p.m.
Kensington Market

Bring your camera and meet other photographers as you take a walk through historical Kensington Market.

5. Open Mic Night

November 14, 7 – 9 p.m.
Multi-Faith Centre, Multi-Purpose Room

Express yourself and speak your truth. Poets, musicians and artists are invited to reflect on identity, community, culture, family, faith and freedom.

6. Working for Change

November 15, 12:30 – 6 p.m.
New College, Wilson Hall Lounge

Explore meaningful opportunities in social justice as you expand your network and learn how your degree will help you make a difference in the world.

7. MoveU Skate and Create

November 15, 7 – 8:30 p.m.
Varsity Arena

Join an evening of crafting, ice skating and fun. Enjoy free hot chocolate, crafts and skate rentals, and don’t forget a donation for the Food and Toy Drive!

8. Work for play

Apply by November 17
Sports & Rec is hiring! Gain leadership and customer service skills and find flexible jobs that work with your schedule while you do what you love.

9. Representation in research

November 20, 1 – 3 p.m.
Multi-Faith Centre, 2nd Floor

Discuss barriers to Indigenous, Black and racialized students as you learn how to get involved in research, and find support from profs and peers.
