A well-deserved break

Whether you’re studying, working or taking some hard-earned time off, reading week always feels like a bit of a treat. So why not live it up and try out something new? Play a few board games, check out the MD Program or donate to a great U of T initiative. The week is all yours.

1. Food and Toy Drive

November 6 – 26
Various locations on campus
Donate toys, non-perishable food, clothing and more at the food and toy drive! All proceeds go to student families registered with the U of T Food Bank.

2. Board Game Cafe

November 6, 3 – 5 p.m.
Hart House, Reading Room

Board games allow you to connect with others without that awkward small talk. Enjoy games, tea, and fun, whether you come solo or with friends!

3. CVs & personal statements

November 7, 10 a.m – 4 p.m.
Student Success Centre

Gain momentum on that grad school application in a productive work environment! Get feedback from a career educator, and great info and resources.

4. SGDO 20th Anniversary

November 7, 5:30 PM – 9:00
Hart House, East Common Room
Discover a panel discussion with stories from the past, reflections on LGBTQ+ cultural and representational shifts, and visions for the future.

5. Student mental health

November 7 – 25
Various locations on all campuses

Help us put your feedback into action! Drop by an Innovation Hub pop-up event  or fill out the online form to give us your insight on student mental health.

6. Medicine 101: Open house

November 9, 9 a.m. – 3 p.m.
Medical Sciences Building, main lobby
Learn more about the MD Program at U of T. Check out a keynote speaker, admissions and program information, and hands-on workshops.

7. Varsity Blues basketball

November 9, 6 – 8 p.m.
Goldring Centre Kimel Family Field House
Come watch your Varsity Blues take on the Windsor Lancers! All Varsity Blues games are free with a valid Tcard. See you at the game!

8. Remembrance Day service

November 11, 10:15 – 11 a.m.
Soldier’s Tower

Honour those who gave their lives in the two World Wars. Mark the centenary of Hart House and the laying of the cornerstone at Soldiers’ Tower.

9. Get your flu shot

November 11 – 15
Various times and locations on campus
Help prevent the flu by getting your shot every year! Remember to eat well, sleep well, exercise, wash your hands and stay home if you feel sick.
