Accessing your pay slips

The university is no longer providing paper copies of your monthly 
pay slips.  You can access them on-line at

You will log in using your UTORid and password.

TA APPLICATION, 2012-2013 GRADUATE COURSES AND TIMETABLE

I look forward to seeing you all this fall.  

Classes will commence on Monday, September 10, 2012, but the week
prior is an important week with various orientation sessions
and sittings of the mathematics PhD comprehensive exams in
analysis, algebra, and topology.  
I'll keep you posted about the various events as dates,
times and locations become available.

At this point I need all students who are interested in 
working as a TA, including the students who have a TA-ship
as part of their offers, to fill out a TA application form.

and the deadline is Friday, June 22, 2012.

Only students coming as International Visiting Graduate Students through
the IVGRS program should submit a copy of their academic transcripts
with their application.  All other incoming students are not required
to submit their transcripts.

CUPE Bargaining Info Session (Nov. 15, 5-6 pm)

There will be a session with a representative from the CUPE Bargaining Support 
Committee to provide information to TA's in the math deparment on the current 
status of the ongoing Unit 1 contract negotiations with the university. 
In particular, there will be information on the upcoming strike vote.

Compulsory TA Orientation Session – September 9, 2011

TA  Orientation - Sept. 2011 for Mathematics 

There will be a general orientation session for all Math TAs on
Friday, September 9
2--3PM                MP 103 

Reserve the time:  it is in the McLellan-Physics Bldg., 
on the ground floor, just north of the Math. Dept.

The session is compulsory for all TAs in Mathematics (including the 
math courses in Engineering).  It will tentatively include:

- Introduction by the  Undergraduate Coordinator (A. Igelfeld)  < 5min

- Remarks by Ms. Paddy Stamp, University Sexual Harassment Office

- Remarks by a representative of the Office of Student Academic 
  Integrity, on cheating and invigilation 

- Remarks by the Writing Instruction TA

- Remarks by  (Associate Chair, Undergraduate)

- Remarks by a CUPE rep.    15 min

Some courses with multiple tutorials have scheduled their first 
TA meeting with supervisors, to hand out materials and discuss 
course-specific issues, at

3-4 PM the same day. Other supervisors may choose to do the same and 
their choices will be announced at the 2 PM session.

Please note, you have to be a registered student in September to be 
eligible to apply.  If you will be a registered student in the Fall 
and are not interested in holding a TA position, you are still 
required to make a note of this on the application form and submit it. 

All graduate students are NOT required to attach a transcript.

Applications for teaching assistants in mathematics are being
accepted for courses beginning September 2010.  Please visit fill
out the required Application Form, and submit your application to
Mr. John Alexander.  The Deadline to apply is July 25, 2010.
