The Department of Mathematics will be hosting the first annual March Break Math Camp associated with the Math Kangaroo competition. This camp will take place from March 11th – 15th, 2013 at the downtown location of the University of Toronto campus. Further information on Math Kangaroo can be found at: http://kangaroo.math.ca/

As such we are seeking to fill the following positions:

Program Leaders (3): These positions will required skills in program development and classroom management. Leaders are required for each of the three grade levels being offered (grades 4-5, 6-7 and 8-10). Successful candidates will be required to develop materials for 1 week of programming based upon materials associated with the Math Kangaroo competition (provided) and liaise with guest speakers to the program. These positions require the successful candidate to be present from 9:00am – 4:00pm, Monday to Friday from March 11th – 15th, 2013 as well as to do preparation work in February and the first week of March. Please specify in your application which grade level(s) you wish to be considered for.

Before/After School Program Leaders (2): These positions will develop and monitor programs designed for students who must arrive early or leave after other participants. These programs will have less of a math focus and more of a “fun” aspect to keep students occupied until they are picked up by their guardians. These positions require the successful candidate to be present from 7:00am – 9:00am and/or 4:00pm – 6:00pm, Monday to Friday from March 11th – 15th, 2013. Please specify in your application which time frames you are available for.

On-Site Coordinator (1): This position will be responsible for providing on-site assistance to both program and before/after-school leaders. This position requires the successful candidate to be present and available between 7:00am – 6:00pm, Monday to Friday from March 11th – 15th, 2013. The hours however will be flexible based upon the needs of the camp.

Please note these positions are offered on the basis of the program achieving full enrolment at each level. All successful candidates must provide a police record check with a vulnerable sector screen and have a valid First Aid certificate by the start of the program.

All candidates will be paid a rate of $25/hour + 4% vacation pay and hours will vary based upon the position.
