Hi Jim,

I hope all is well!
We are running the All Science Challenge in a couple of weeks, and with that a fun house of activities. We are trying to recruit students from different departments to help out with the specific activities, and it would be great to have some from you department! We are also at a bit of a loss to think up a math activity related to number theory for grades 6-8, so any ideas that you or your students can think of would be helpful!
To help us recruit some volunteers to this event, would you mind sending the email below to your grad students?
Thanks!
Emily
Hello,
Let’s Talk Science is looking for volunteers for the All Science Challenge (ASC) on Monday May 28, 2012 at the Hart House.
The ASC is a unique event of Grade 6,7 and 8 students competing in small school based teams. We will need many volunteers to help out with this activity. This is a great and fun event to be a part of as you get to see the brightest students around the Toronto area compete against one another.
Specifically, we are looking for a couple of volunteers to run a math science based activity from 12-2 pm.
For the event we will also need volunteers to be judges, help with registration and other logistic duties. Volunteering for this event can also give you GPS credits.
Topics at the ASC include biology, chemistry, earth sciences, engineering and technology, environmental sciences, mathematics, physics, and space sciences.
This is an all day event; however, if you are only available for part of the day (e.g. AM or PM only) you can still volunteer! Please let us know your availability when you reply to this email. We can be reached at lts.grad@utoronto.ca.
Lunch for volunteers will be provided.
Thanks,
ASC Team
